Black Wolf by Louise Penny

I read this book a few weeks ago and hesitated to even write down my feelings. Usually I really like her books. The last one Gray Wolf was an interesting read. This one was the “final” book in the two book series - I guess - and I found it to be tedious. It took me over a month to finish it. That’s not like me. Since then I’ve picked up a couple of books and found them boring. I’m reading a book called A Slow Fire Burning by Paula Hawkins that has caught my attention. However I’m also reading The Iliad and The Creative Habit: Learn it And Use It For Life not to mention I’m behind in the NY Times and have a pile of magazines to read. So there’s that. Anyway this book had a bit of a surprise ending but that was it. The rest of the book was, in my opinion, tedious. The book finally unearths the identiy of The Black Wolf who is behind what seems, to me at least, a bit of an absurd premise. It DOES involve the wildfires sent smoke over the border and that’s happening again. So there’s that. Still another reader might love it. I’m going to refill my iced tea, grab a couple of cookies and read Hawkins.
